Salesforce Agrees to Buy Rune Technologies for a Reported $375 Million
The price is three times the valuation Rune carried at its 2025 Series A, and Salesforce itself has not confirmed it.

Salesforce agreed to buy Rune Technologies, a two-year-old maker of battlefield logistics software, for a reported $375 million in cash and stock, roughly three times the $127 million valuation the startup carried at its 2025 Series A.
Salesforce announced the definitive agreement on Oct. 29 and did not disclose a price. TechCrunch reported the $375 million figure on Oct. 30 and credited Resilience Media with first reporting it. Salesforce expects the deal to close in the fourth quarter of its fiscal year 2027, subject to customary conditions, so this is announced and not closed. The site has covered other acquisitions, including Intel and Classiq and Prosus and Navi.
What $375 million buys at Rune
Rune was founded in 2024 by David Tuttle, who is chief executive, and Peter Goldsborough. TechCrunch put its total funding at about $30 million, from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Point72 Ventures and IQT, the CIA-backed nonprofit venture firm formerly known as In-Q-Tel.
PitchBook, as cited by TechCrunch, last valued the company at $127 million when a Series A led by Human Capital closed in 2025. The source does not say whether that figure is pre-money or post-money. Taken at face value, the reported price is 2.95 times that valuation and 12.5 times the capital Rune raised.
Salesforce describes the product as edge-native software for logistics and sustainment operations for the U.S. military and allied nations. It helps frontline teams forecast supply needs in what Salesforce calls DDIL environments, meaning denied, degraded, intermittent or limited networks, and it synchronizes with enterprise systems when connectivity returns. Salesforce says Rune is already deployed with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corps.
Where it sits among Salesforce's 2026 deals
TechCrunch lists three other Salesforce acquisitions in 2026. Rune is the smallest by price of the ones with a figure attached.
| Target | Price as reported | Status per TechCrunch |

Listen Labs is the odd one out. TechCrunch reported in September 2026 that the startup walked away from a $125 million Series C term sheet at a $1.5 billion valuation before agreeing to be bought.
Missionforce and the $5.6 billion ceiling
Rune goes into Missionforce, the national security unit Salesforce launched a year ago. Kendall Collins, president and CEO of Missionforce and Government Cloud, called it Salesforce's "most significant acquisition in this space" in the company's announcement. Salesforce says the defense business is growing 80 percent a year, with customers in all six U.S. military branches.
The figure Salesforce leans on is a 10-year Army contract with a $5.6 billion ceiling. A ceiling is the most the Army can order, not what it has ordered, and none of the sources report how much has been spent under it.
Tuttle said in the same announcement that Rune was built "to build and deliver modern technologies and capabilities for our military sustainers at the front lines."
What neither side has said
Salesforce's announcement carries no price, no split between cash and stock, and no revenue figure for Rune. TechCrunch reported that Salesforce did not respond to a request for comment. Without revenue, the only multiple anyone can calculate is against past funding, which says what earlier investors paid and nothing about what Rune earns.
The next observable event is the close itself, which Salesforce has placed in the fourth quarter of its fiscal 2027.
