Intel Buys Classiq for a Reported $2.3 Billion, About Three Times Its 2025 Valuation, With No Price From Intel
Bloomberg and SiliconANGLE disagree by $100 million on the figure, and Intel's chief executive was an investor in two of Classiq's rounds.

Intel agreed to acquire Classiq, an Israeli quantum software company, in a deal expected to close in the first half of 2027. Intel did not disclose a price. Bloomberg reported about $2.3 billion, citing people familiar with the matter, according to The Next Web, and Intel declined to comment on that figure.
SiliconANGLE, in a piece published Oct. 26, put the price at $2.2 billion and called it Intel's second-largest acquisition after the $15.3 billion Mobileye deal in 2017. The $100 million gap between the two figures has not been reconciled by either outlet. Treat both as reported, not confirmed.
The multiple against Classiq's 2025 valuation
The Next Web, relaying Calcalist, said Classiq was valued at about $600 million to $700 million in 2025. A $2.3 billion price is 3.3 to 3.8 times that range, set against a $110 million Series C closed in May 2025. SiliconANGLE said that round, like Classiq's $33 million Series B in February 2022, had Intel Chief Executive Lip-Bu Tan as a participant.

Classiq has raised just over $200 million, so the reported price is roughly 11 times the capital it took in.
- Series B (Feb. 2022)33 $M
- Series C (May 2025)110 $M
- Total raised, just over200 $M
- Reported price (Bloomberg)2300 $M

Who sits on both sides
Tan took part in the 2022 and 2025 rounds, per SiliconANGLE. The Next Web said Calcalist reported that Tan was not involved in the talks. Intel has not said whether its board reviewed the related-party connection, and neither article reports that it did.
Nir Minerbi is Classiq's chief executive, according to The Next Web. Neither source quotes him.
What Intel says it is buying
Intel said it would "create a user-friendly full-stack quantum computing platform" by pairing Classiq's software with its spin-qubit manufacturing process. Classiq will become Intel's global development centre for quantum computing, per SiliconANGLE. Tan said in a statement, quoted by The Next Web, that joining forces "transforms Intel's Quantum Computing Group into a full-stack quantum computing business."
Classiq's product automates the synthesis of quantum algorithms, which means turning a high-level description of a problem into circuits. Intel said that abstraction lets quantum computing "scale beyond custom hand-crafted circuits." Neither source says how many customers Classiq has or what its revenue is, so the price cannot be set against sales.
What has to happen before it closes
The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. The first date that could settle the price is an Intel filing or Israeli regulatory notice, which neither source says has been made.
For comparison, Thrive Holdings' $15.3 billion ADT purchase was financed by Apollo, and Upwind's $400 million Series C came in $100 million above earlier reports, a gap of the same size as the one between Bloomberg and SiliconANGLE here.
