Pixxel Raises $100 Million in India's Largest Spacetech Round
Temasek and Seraphim co-led the Series C, and Seraphim disclosed its own $25 million slice while the rest of the round's split stayed private.

Pixxel closed a $100 million Series C round co-led by Singapore's Temasek and London-listed Seraphim Space, the company said Sept. 7. Pixxel called it the largest funding round any space-technology company in India has raised, bringing its total funding to $195 million.
New investors 360 ONE Asset and South Korea's IMM Investment joined the round, alongside existing backers Radical Ventures, growX Ventures and M&G Catalyst, Pixxel said. Seraphim disclosed its own allocation at $25 million, TheNextWeb reported; no other investor's individual check size was made public. Google, which backed Pixxel in an earlier round, is not listed among this round's participants.
Founder and CEO Awais Ahmed, who started the company in 2019 with Kshitij Khandelwal, said: "Years ago, we set out to build a health monitor for the planet. Hyperspectral imaging gave us a fundamentally new way to see Earth. This new investment gives us the scale to turn that vision into planetary infrastructure." Seraphim Space CEO Mark Boggett said the deal reflects "the rise of India as a global SpaceTech leader."
What $195 Million Has Bought So Far
Pixxel operates six Firefly satellites, which it and outside coverage describe as the highest-resolution commercial hyperspectral constellation in orbit today. The company holds a NASA contract and a five-year hyperspectral data agreement with the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office signed in 2023, and it was selected to lead the consortium building India's IN-SPACe 12-satellite national Earth observation constellation.
| Round | Announced | Amount | Cumulative funding |
|---|---|---|---|
| Series B extension | Dec. 9, 2024 | $24 million | $95 million |
| Series C | Sept. 7, 2026 | $100 million | $195 million |
The new money funds four priorities, Pixxel said: extending its Honeybee hyperspectral constellation, the successor to Firefly, into shortwave infrared, adding synthetic aperture radar and ultra-high-resolution optical imaging, and building out its Gigapixxel manufacturing facility. The first Honeybee satellite is due to launch in 2027.

A Disclosure Pattern Repeating Across Hard Tech
Pixxel's funding announcement names its contracts and hardware milestones in detail but not the round's valuation, leaving no public multiple to check the price against. That mirrors Stoke Space's $1 billion Series E, which priced the rocket maker at roughly $10 billion without a disclosed revenue projection, launch-price target or signed customer manifest. It also echoes Castelion's $1 billion round, where the equity and credit-facility split mattered more than the headline number once it was reported in detail.
Pixxel did not say when it expects to close a further round, and it gave no valuation for this one. The clearest marker of progress it offered is operational rather than financial: whether the first Honeybee satellite reaches orbit in 2027 on the schedule this round just funded, and whether the IN-SPACe consortium constellation Pixxel is leading keeps pace with the government timeline attached to it.
For a company Ahmed and Khandelwal started as undergraduates at BITS Pilani in 2019, the jump from a $60 million Series B in December 2024 to a $195 million cumulative total less than two years later is the number investors will watch next, alongside whatever revenue figure eventually accompanies it.
