Mach Industries Doubles Its Valuation to $3.7 Billion in Three Months
The $600 million round is a Series C extension, not a new financing, and the same four investors who backed Mach in June returned to fund it again in September.
Mach Industries raised $600 million on Thursday in what the defense manufacturer calls a Series C extension, pushing its valuation to $3.7 billion, according to a company announcement distributed by PR Newswire. That is more than double the $1.8 billion valuation the company carried when the original $300 million Series C tranche closed in June, according to TechCrunch.
The distinction between the two tranches matters more than the headline number. Mach did not raise a new round; it extended an existing one, and the extension closed and was announced on the same day, which is the version of this story worth trusting. The combined Series C, both tranches together, now totals $900 million.
Who actually wrote the check
No new investor joined the September tranche. Ribbit Capital, Infinite Capital, Bedrock Capital and Sequoia backed both the $300 million round in June and the $600 million round in September, TechCrunch reported. Four names underwrote a $600 million check without a new lead or a broader syndicate showing up to price it.
That combined figure supports a multiple worth stating rather than implying: $900 million in Series C capital against a $3.7 billion valuation is a multiple of roughly 4.1 times. Measured against the $470 million valuation Mach carried after a $100 million round in June 2025, according to TechCrunch, the company is worth almost eight times what it was 15 months earlier.
What the money is for
Mach, based in Huntington Beach, California, builds unmanned military aircraft, including the Viper vertical-takeoff drone, the Dart interceptor and the ship-based Atlas aircraft, out of a 115,000-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility, according to SiliconANGLE. Founder and Chief Executive Ethan Thornton, 22, dropped out of MIT at 19 to start the company.
"This investment allows us to continue expanding that capacity while moving new platforms from development into production faster," Thornton said, according to SiliconANGLE. The company said in its PR Newswire announcement that the capital will fund work across weapons platforms, propulsion and energetics, and "advanced manufacturing."
Mach has been building out that manufacturing base for months. It acquired solid-rocket-motor maker Exquadrum for $50 million in May, spinning the deal into a new Mach Energetics division, and in June won a Defense Department contract to develop the Atlas aircraft, on top of an Army product-development contract it secured in March 2025. Working with manufacturing partner Divergent Technologies, Mach designed and built a new drone, Venom, in 71 days using 3D printing, SiliconANGLE reported.
The company Mach is not
Mach's $3.7 billion valuation is a fraction of the two companies SiliconANGLE named as its closest comparisons. Rival Helsing SE, a German maker of autonomous aircraft also built around cost-efficiency, closed a $1.8 billion investment three months before Mach's extension. Anduril Industries, the largest company in the category, raised $5 billion at a $61 billion valuation, more than 16 times what Mach is now worth.

Mach's own trajectory, tranche by tranche, is the more revealing chart. The company has now raised capital at three distinct valuations in 15 months, and each step has come faster than the one before it.
| Round | Date | Amount | Valuation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Series B | June 2025 | $100 million | $470 million |
| Series C | June 2026 | $300 million | $1.8 billion |
| Series C extension | Sept. 10, 2026 | $600 million | $3.7 billion |
Neither the PR Newswire announcement nor TechCrunch's report says whether the extension priced as new primary shares or included any secondary sale letting earlier employees or investors cash out, a structure that has shown up elsewhere in 2026's defense and inference-chip rounds, including Positron AI's tranched $875 million raise. Mach also has not disclosed revenue, headcount or an order backlog to go with the new number.
The next test of that $3.7 billion figure is not another funding announcement. It is whether the Atlas contract and the Army work convert into production volume Mach can point to instead of a valuation, the same gap that has followed Harvey's jump to a $15.5 billion valuation in legal AI without a matching public revenue disclosure.
