Legora Raises $550 Million at $8.8 Billion, 44 Times the ARR It Has Disclosed
Atreides Management led the Series E seven months after the $5.55 billion Series D. The company says ARR is above $200 million; the valuation lands below the $8.5 billion pre-money Bloomberg reported in September.

Legora, the legal AI company, said on Oct. 21 that it raised a $550 million Series E at an $8.8 billion post-money valuation, led by Atreides Management. The company says annual recurring revenue (ARR) is above $200 million, which puts the multiple at no more than 44 times.
The figures come from Legora's announcement, which lists the ARR and customer counts without an audit or a breakdown. They are company-supplied.
Who is in the round
Atreides Management led. New investors are Baron Capital, Capital Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company, Glade Brook Capital Partners and J.P. Morgan. Accel, Benchmark, Bessemer Venture Partners, General Catalyst, ICONIQ, Insight Venture Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Salesforce Ventures and Sands Capital took part as existing investors.
Gavin Baker, Managing Partner and CIO of Atreides, is quoted in the release saying Legora "has become the platform that law firms and in-house legal teams adopt and then expand." Max Junestrand, CEO and co-founder, said: "We intend to lead that shift in the US and globally."

The valuation arithmetic
The round is a 1.59x step-up on the $5.55 billion Series D announced March 10, 2026, which Bloomberg Law reported was led by Accel and roughly tripled the previous mark. Legora's own release gives the prior round as $5.6 billion. The two figures differ by $50 million, and the release does not explain the gap.
The September talks put the number higher. Runtime Wire, citing Bloomberg, reported on Sept. 22 that Legora was seeking at least $300 million at about $8.5 billion pre-money. A $550 million raise at $8.8 billion post-money implies $8.25 billion pre-money, so the closed round priced about $250 million below the figure in the talks, on a larger cheque.

Runtime Wire put Harvey, the larger rival, at $15.5 billion after its own $550 million round. That is 1.76 times Legora's new mark, a figure that rests on that one outlet's account.
What the company says it has
| Metric | March 2026 (Series D) | Oct. 21, 2026 (Series E) |
|---|---|---|
| Valuation | $5.55 billion | $8.8 billion |
| ARR | Not disclosed | Above $200 million |
| Employees | About 400 | More than 1,000 |
| Customers | Not stated | 2,400+ firms and in-house teams |
The March headcount comes from Legal Technology, which also said about a quarter of staff were in the US. The Series E release says the US is now the largest market by revenue and that more than half of the AmLaw 50 are customers.
The release says Legora went from $1 million to $100 million in ARR in under 18 months, and the next $100 million took under six months. In-house teams made up more than 40% of new customers in the third quarter. Legora lists 18 offices and more than 140,000 legal professionals across more than 80 markets.
David Eckstein, the company's CFO, said: "We have passed $200 million in ARR, and we want every dollar of it to be a durable one." The release does not say how much of that figure is contracted versus billed, or whether it is annualised from a single month.
What is not disclosed
The release does not state a revenue multiple, gross margin, net retention, or the preference terms of the new shares. The 44 times is a ceiling calculated here from the two published numbers, because ARR is given only as "above" $200 million.
Legora says the money goes to North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific expansion and to its agentic operating system, including intake, horizon scanning and legal research. Its newsroom lists the Intake launch on Oct. 13. For other startup numbers on this site, see Q3 fintech funding as counted by Crunchbase and FinTech Global and the Respan Launch HN debut.
The next number to watch is the one Legora has now promised: a third $100 million of ARR. The company has not given a date.
