Hubble Network Raises $200M, Opens Satellite Bluetooth to Everyone
The Seattle startup's Series C values it at $1.6 billion, seven satellites into a constellation it says will reach sixty by 2030.

Hubble Network raised a $200 million Series C on Sept. 23, at a $1.6 billion valuation, in a round led by Smith Point Capital, according to the company's own announcement. The Seattle company builds a network that lets standard Bluetooth Low Energy chips, the kind already inside trackers and consumer electronics, transmit directly to satellites rather than only to a nearby phone or gateway.
The round brings Hubble's total funding to $300 million, up from a $70 million Series B roughly a year earlier, according to GeekWire, which also confirmed the participating investor list: Seraphim, Carthona Capital, Earthshot Ventures, Y Combinator and RPM Ventures alongside lead Smith Point Capital.
Six satellites in orbit now, sixty planned by 2030
Hubble operates six satellites in low Earth orbit as of this round and plans to add 54 more by the end of 2029, built and operated with satellite partner Muon Space, according to Payload Space. The follow-on satellites are designed to carry ten times as many Bluetooth-detecting antennas as the six now in orbit and to track more than 10 million devices per satellite; the first two are expected to launch in 2027. Hubble's satellites fly as rideshare payloads on SpaceX Falcon 9 Transporter missions, the same program used to loft hundreds of other small satellites each year.

The pitch: a 50-cent chip and a $4 monthly plan
Hubble's ground network already includes more than 90 million Bluetooth-detecting scanners, largely other people's phones and smart devices running Hubble's software passively, according to GeekWire. The company is targeting a cost structure of roughly 50-cent Bluetooth chips paired with $4-a-month subscriptions for asset tracking, aimed at package trackers, vehicles, pharmaceuticals and warehouse-to-doorstep consumer goods. Software firm Samsara is named as a pilot customer.
Founded in 2021 by a Life360 co-founder
Chief executive and co-founder Alex Haro previously co-founded location-sharing app Life360; chief technology officer Ben Wild is credited as the inventor of Amazon Sidewalk, Amazon's separate low-power mesh network for consumer devices. Hubble was founded in 2021, employs roughly 70 people, and is ranked 135th on the GeekWire 200 list of Pacific Northwest startups. "Most of the industry said the physics wouldn't allow it," Haro said of the initial skepticism about beaming a Bluetooth signal directly to a satellite hundreds of kilometers up.

The $1.6 billion valuation arrives the same week Hubble moved its network from closed beta to general availability, and it follows a funding pattern similar to two other startups this quarter: Positron AI's climb to a $5 billion valuation and Lightfield's $47 million Series A for an AI-agent CRM, both priced on a single disclosed growth metric investors were asked to take on faith. Hubble has not disclosed revenue, a customer count beyond naming Samsara, or a churn figure for its ground-scanner network.
The next concrete milestone is the 2027 launch of Hubble's first follow-on satellites; whether they actually carry ten times the antenna capacity Hubble has promised will be the first outside check on the numbers behind this round.
