ElevenLabs Hits $22 Billion on a $300 Million Tender, Which Puts No New Cash in the Company
The valuation doubled from February's $11 billion, but the transaction is a secondary sale by staff and early holders, priced at 1.4% of the company.
ElevenLabs was valued at $22 billion on September 30 in a $300 million employee tender offer, double the $11 billion it carried in February, the company said in its own announcement. The figure will travel, and it is the least informative part of the news: a tender is a secondary sale, so the company receives no primary capital from it.
The company's blog describes the transaction as employee liquidity rather than a raise. It did not say whether the $22 billion is pre-money or post-money. In a pure secondary no new shares are issued, so the two are the same number, and $300 million is about 1.4% of it.
Who bought the shares
Wellington and T. Rowe Price led. EQT, Goldman Sachs, GIC, OTPP, Sapphire Ventures and BDT & MSD invested for the first time, the company said. Existing investors named are Andreessen Horowitz, Lightspeed, ICONIQ, D.E. Shaw, Evantic, DISRUPTIVE and Alkeon.
TechCrunch reported that this is the company's second employee tender. The first was $100 million in September 2025 at a $6.6 billion valuation, which makes the new mark 3.3 times the old one in 12 months.

What the company disclosed about the business
The announcement gives ratios and no absolute revenue. Enterprise customers account for 55% of revenue. Voice agents now handle more than 15 million conversations a week, up 3 times since February. ElevenAgents annual recurring revenue has tripled over the same period, and multichannel deployments have doubled.
The company also said voice agents resolve issues 31% faster than chat agents on average. That is a company-supplied figure and the announcement does not describe the method.
Without a revenue number, the valuation cannot be converted into a multiple of sales. The EliseAI round covered earlier was priced at 20 times run rate and Cognition's at 53 times; ElevenLabs has given the reader nothing to compare against either.

Why a tender and not a round
TechCrunch framed it as part of a pattern in which fast-growing A.I. start-ups use employee liquidity to stop staff leaving for competitors. The company, founded in 2022 and based in New York and London, has more than 800 employees, according to its blog.
Mati Staniszewski, cofounder and chief executive, said in the announcement that "AI should interact with people the way we interact with each other." Emma Norchet of T. Rowe Price said the team "is able to make improvements at every layer of the stack." Neither quote addresses price.
| Mark | Date | Size | Valuation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Employee tender | September 2025 | $100 million | $6.6 billion |
| Series D | February 2026 | Not in sources | $11 billion |
| Employee tender | September 30, 2026 | $300 million | $22 billion |
What would confirm the number
A secondary price is set between buyers and sellers of existing shares, and the company's own balance sheet is untouched. The test of $22 billion is the next primary round, where new money buys new shares at a price the company has to live with. Neither source says when ElevenLabs plans one.
