Indian Startups Raised $115 Million or $130.2 Million in the Last Week of October, Depending on Whose Tracker You Read
Inc42 counts 32 deals and Entrackr 28; both show a week below the eight-week average, and neither shows a single round above $15 million.
Indian startups raised $130.2 million across 32 deals between Oct. 26 and Oct. 30, according to Inc42's weekly tally. Entrackr's report for Oct. 26 to Oct. 31 says $115 million across 28 deals.
The $15.2 million gap and the four-deal gap are the story of the week, because both outlets are counting the same ecosystem and neither explains the difference.
Two trackers, two directions of travel
Both say funding fell on the prior week. They disagree on how far, because they also disagree about the prior week.
| Measure | Inc42 | Entrackr |
|---|---|---|
| This week, total | $130.2 million | $115 million |
| This week, deals | 32 | 28 |
| Prior week, total | $184 million | $133.9 million |
| Prior week, deals | 17 | 15 |
| Change in total | down 29.2% | down 14% |
The prior-week totals differ by $50.1 million, more than three times this week's gap. Inc42 reads the week as a fall in money with 88% more deals. Entrackr reads it as a smaller fall against a prior week of 15 startups.
Entrackr adds a baseline: the eight-week average is about $210 million across 23 deals. On its count, this week was about 55% of that average in dollars, with five more deals than the average.

The same rounds, counted differently
The largest round is not in dispute. Cent, a healthtech company, raised a $15 million Series A led by Blume Ventures and South Park Commons, per both outlets. Simplismart's $14 million is also common to both.
Beyond that the lists diverge. Inc42 lists Troovy's Series B at $10.5 million led by Fireside Ventures. Entrackr lists $11.5 million, led by Sharrp Ventures with Info Edge, WaterBridge and Better Capital participating. Live2.ai is $13.7 million and a pre-Series B at Inc42, and $14 million and growth-stage at Entrackr. Rotoris is $8.5 million at Inc42 and Rs 70 crore, about $7.4 million, at Entrackr.
Inc42's table also carries entries that Entrackr's summary does not show: BioStack's $9.5 million seed with Y Combinator among its listed leads, Manicule's $1.3 million seed led by Y Combinator and Broom Ventures, and Glance, with an undisclosed amount from L Catterton. Some of the difference may be scope, since Entrackr's summary lists only its top rounds, but its own count of 28 is given in the report.
What the 32 deals look like
Inc42 says ecommerce led with nine deals totalling $33.4 million, and AI came second with five deals worth $30.4 million. Blume Ventures and Antler were the most active investors, each backing three startups. The top three rounds, Cent, Simplismart and Live2.ai, add up to $42.7 million on Inc42's figures, a third of the week's total.
That shape, many small cheques and no round above $15 million, is what a count of 32 deals and $130.2 million implies: an average of about $4.1 million per deal.
What it means for the earlier reads
The site has covered the other end of this market in recent days. Ollie shut down nine weeks after a $7.5 million seed, and Runware is the kind of large raise that never appears in a week like this one. Neither was Indian, but both sit on the same funding curve.
The practical lesson is narrower. Any single weekly total from a tracker is a count of what that tracker found, and the next Inc42 and Entrackr reports, due after Nov. 6, will show whether the two converge or keep drifting apart.
