D-Robotics Raises $400M, Skips Naming Its Biggest Backer
Hong Kong stock filings identify Meituan as the round's "leading global internet company" investor, a backer D-Robotics' own announcement declines to name.

D-Robotics, a robotics-chip maker spun off from autonomous-driving chip supplier Horizon Robotics, raised $400 million in a Series C round led by Mirae Asset, the company said in a Sept. 17 announcement. The release credits a "leading global internet company" as a strategic investor without naming it.
Hong Kong financial news outlet AAStocks reported that investor is Meituan, the Hong Kong-listed delivery and services company trading as 03690.HK. Meituan is not a new backer: a Meituan Long-Z Fund vehicle was already listed among D-Robotics' investors five months earlier, in a $120 million B1 round the company closed March 16, 2026, according to a Gasgoo report on that round.
Four rounds, $770 million, 16 months
D-Robotics has now raised money four times since spinning off from Horizon Robotics' AI-of-things division in January 2024, according to Yicai Global's reporting on the company's Series B. The Shenzhen-based company closed a $100 million Series A in May 2025, then two Series B tranches 20 days apart in the spring: $120 million on March 16 and $150 million on April 8, 2026, taking Series B to $270 million combined.
| Round | Date | Amount | Named investors |
|---|---|---|---|
| Series A | May 2025 | $100 million | Not disclosed |
| Series B1 | March 16, 2026 | $120 million | Didi Global, Meituan Long-Z Fund, BAIC Capital |
| Series B2 | April 8, 2026 | $150 million | Didi Global, Prosperity7 Ventures, 5Y Capital |
| Series C | Sept. 17, 2026 | $400 million | Mirae Asset, Meituan, Hefei State-owned Capital Investment |
Adding the four rounds puts D-Robotics' total funding since the spinoff at more than $770 million. The company's Series C release does not give a valuation, and none of the other funding reports cited here disclose one either.
What the chips actually ship
D-Robotics sells its Sunrise line of computing chips and RDK developer kits to companies building humanoid robots, quadruped robots, logistics robots and robot vacuums. Cumulative Sunrise chip shipments passed 8 million units by the first half of 2026, and revenue grew several times over the same year-earlier period, the Series C announcement said, without giving a base figure for either count.
The company's Sunrise S600 chip, launched in November 2025, had been adopted by more than 20 embodied-AI customers within six months, according to the announcement. D-Robotics said its RDK platform now has more than 100,000 developers across 20-plus countries, the same developer-count figure it gave in the April Series B2 announcement Yicai Global reported on, suggesting the company has not updated that metric in five months even as it reports shipment and revenue growth elsewhere.
A crowded quarter for robot-hardware money
D-Robotics' round lands in the same stretch of 2026 that has seen XPeng's robotics unit raise $900 million for its IRON humanoid and data-collection startup XDOF go in talks for a Series B at a $1.2 billion valuation. Unlike those two, D-Robotics sells the chips underneath the robots rather than the robots or their training data, a bet that whichever humanoid or logistics-robot maker wins, its silicon is inside the winner.
The company has not said when it expects to disclose a valuation, or whether its next round would be a Series D or a public listing, the path Horizon Robotics itself took on the Hong Kong exchange before spinning D-Robotics off.
