Figma Calls India Its Second-Largest Market, and Its Own Survey of 507 Indian Respondents Is the Evidence for the Mood
Config India produced a market ranking, a 40% BSE100 figure and a 65% excitement score. Every one of them comes from Figma, and none states a base the reader can check.

Figma said on October 15 that India is its second-largest market by daily active users, as of June 30, 2026, and that more than 40% of BSE100 companies used Figma in the second quarter. Both figures appear in Figma's own post about Config India, its largest international Config, and neither has an outside check.
The post says more than 30,000 people registered in person and virtually. The event was held in Bengaluru, according to Entrackr, which reported that Figma added 20 partners to its MCP ecosystem, among them Sarvam AI.
What the market claims rest on
The ranking has a date and a metric, which is more than such claims usually carry. It does not give the daily active user count, the share of Figma's total that India represents, or the first-ranked country. Figma named customers instead: Airtel, CARS24, Groww, Juspay, Myntra, Swiggy, TCS and Zomato.
The BSE100 figure counts companies, not seats. A company that has one paid seat for a design team of three and one with 4,000 users count the same, and the post does not distinguish them.
The survey, and what it can and cannot show
Figma's research drew 507 Indian respondents within a global survey of more than 1,800, fielded from August 17 to September 16, 2026. That is roughly 28% of the sample from one country, so India's answers carry real weight in the global totals the post compares against.

The post gives the same group's other answers. In India, 83% said they are more productive or efficient, 82% said their teams move faster from idea to finished product, and 87% said shifting roles had a positive effect on their team. A further 77% said non-designers regularly do design work.
The post does not say how respondents were recruited. If they were drawn from Figma's own users, the answers describe people already using the product, and a 65% excitement score would say more about the sample than the country. The 44% comparison is also a combined US and EMEA figure, which hides any gap between those regions.

What Figma is spending on the market
The commitments in the post are concrete and dated. The Campus Leaders programme expands to India, its first location outside the US and Canada, with the first cohort starting in January 2027. Applications close at 11:59 p.m. IST on November 7, 2026. The programme runs on more than 60 North American campuses.
Figma also counts 23 Friends of Figma chapters in India with more than 33,000 members, a Hindi localisation launched earlier in 2026, and a Bengaluru hub announced on November 12, 2025. Local data hosting with new governance tools for enterprise customers was announced on December 5, 2025, with local data residency expected the following quarter.
For an Indian enterprise, data residency is the item with a procurement consequence. The post does not say whether that quarter has arrived.
| Commitment | Date in the post |
|---|---|
| Bengaluru hub announced | November 12, 2025 |
| Local data hosting and governance tools | December 5, 2025 |
| Campus Leaders applications close | November 7, 2026 |
| First India Campus Leaders cohort | January 2027 |
The Sarvam partnership and the Zomato quote
Sarvam's Indus joins Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Xcode and VS Code as an MCP partner. Dr. Pratyush Kumar, Sarvam's chief executive and co-founder, said in the post: "We're excited to partner with Figma in an India-first AI collaboration."
Priyanka Srinivasagopalan, design lead at Zomato, is quoted describing Figma as a collaborative canvas that brings designs closer to the end product. Figma Chief Executive Dylan Field said: "In a world where code is becoming commoditized, design is increasingly the differentiator."
The reporting here is a read of Figma's own post; Figma had about 2,200 employees worldwide as of September 30, 2026, per the same post, and continues to hire in India. Indian consumer-internet names such as Flipkart and Jio Platforms are the kind of buyers whose finances the site has covered, but neither is named by Figma as a customer.
The number to watch is the one Figma has not published: India's share of daily active users. Until it does, the second-place ranking is a position without a size.
