Anthropic's S-1 Leaves the Compute Total Blank; Outside Tallies Run From $245 Billion to $475 Billion
Fortune puts the floor at $475 billion in committed cloud purchases, against about $10.8 billion in noncancelable enterprise contracts.

Anthropic's S-1, filed October 26, 2026, leaves its total compute commitment blank, and the sums outside parties have made from it run from $245 billion to $475 billion or more. Fortune reported at least $475 billion in committed cloud purchases, and as much as $750 billion with chip-leasing deals.
The filing is on EDGAR and runs 335 pages, according to Crunchbase News. The figures below come from reporting on it by Fortune, PPC Land and Crunchbase News, not from a line-by-line reading of the filing text.
Why the totals disagree
PPC Land said the S-1's own total is blank, so every figure is somebody's addition. It listed three minimums from the commitments table.
| Provider | Minimum | Period |
|---|---|---|
| Google Cloud | $114.5 billion | April 2026 to July 2033 |
| Amazon (AWS) | $110.0 billion | May 2026 to April 2036 |
| Microsoft (Azure) | $44.9 billion | November 2026 to May 2033 |
Those three sum to $269.4 billion, PPC Land's figure. It listed more: about $161.2 billion of Broadcom TPU equipment leases, up to $120.5 billion of Nvidia capacity from SpaceXAI, up to about $44.6 billion from Nscale and about $41.3 billion from Lambda.
Yahoo Finance, per PPC Land, summed four non-cancelable lines to $430.6 billion. Reuters, again as cited by PPC Land, counted $245 billion in future minimum payments plus about $21 billion short term.

The customer side of the ledger
Fortune wrote that much of the cloud commitment is owed regardless of usage, while much of the revenue carries no long-term commitment. Customers can reduce usage or terminate with limited or no notice, it said.
Remaining performance obligations under noncancelable enterprise contracts were about $10.8 billion at June 2026, Fortune reported, with about 75% expected to be recognized within a year. Against that sits the $475 billion floor.
Fortune said the top five customers made up roughly 25% of revenue in the first nine months of 2026. It also reported an estimate that 5% to 7% of 2026 revenue came from customers later found to be violating usage policies. Anthropic is moving enterprise customers to noncancelable multiyear deals with fixed minimum spend, in exchange for discounted token rates, Fortune said.

Revenue, losses and cash
First-half 2026 revenue was $16.28 billion, Fortune said, and Crunchbase News put it at $16.3 billion, up 14x from the same period of 2025. About $13.1 billion, roughly 80%, came from enterprise consumption fees.
Cost of revenue for serving tokens was $2.4 billion for the six months, up 135%. Anthropic says it earns more than $2 for every $1 spent on compute infrastructure, Fortune said. Cash stood at $112.4 billion at the end of June.
The first-half net loss was $80.7 billion, PPC Land said. Crunchbase News said about 90% of it came from changes in fair value of convertible notes, derivative liabilities and SAFEs. PPC Land put that change at $72.388 billion. The operating loss was $693 million, per Crunchbase News.
Token pricing is already falling elsewhere, as Laminar's flow-1 priced 23 times below GPT-6-sol shows. The filing also names a governance layer: PPC Land said the Long-Term Benefit Trust has five authorized voting trustees, and the Financial Times reported the trust has picked 4 of 7 directors.
PPC Land said the stock is to list on Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. The S-1 does not give second-half 2026 results, Crunchbase News said.
